Sunday, September 25, 2005Gilroy Garlic Festival Association to Relocate Headquarters
The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association (GFA) will be moving its headquarters.
The GFA has reportedly agreed a land-swap deal with the city council. The GFA will take over a public parking lot in Monterey Street, in exchange for which it will give the council its current parking lot at Eigleberry Street plus a cash sum. The non-profit GFA, which organises the Gilroy's annual garlic festival, plans to build a new headquartes on the site. The land swap was agreed despite objections from some local traders concerned about the timing of the plan and the loss of downtown parking space. << Home |
